Our mission is to spread awareness of Ukraine’s unique identity — cultural, literary, historical and political. We do this by choosing books about Ukraine (often by Ukrainian writers) and making a “free library” out of repurposed shoe boxes in which to house them. We then place these boxes in stores so that customers can take a book for free, and either return it or pass it on to a friend.
